I specialize in inclusive yoga and mindfulness classes for beginners who want to learn the foundations of yoga and for people who tend to put themselves on the back burner. I teach gentle yoga, meditation and self-compassion to people who are committed to their inner growth. I’ve seen that growth in thousands of students, so I know this practice can support you to fall in love with your body, your mind, your breath, and your life.

If you're looking for a trauma-informed private yoga instructor, you'll be in good hands with Kate Lynch.

Deepen your yoga practice, care for an injury, focus on a specific life goal, give a nurturing gift of private prenatal yoga, or try yoga for the first time somewhere you feel comfortable. Learn therapeutic yoga and meditation practices from the comfort of your home. Care for an injury under the supervision of your medical providers. Feel better in your body.

"Your mastery of the material that you've taught over the past 20 years is evident. Yoga with you is a different experience than with other teachers."

Private Yoga Can Help Your Mind and Your Body Feel Better

Want to feel more grounded and focused? My private yoga classes are designed to help people in all sorts of bodies find emotional balance, build resilience and cultivate joy. You'll learn therapeutic yoga practices you can apply to your stressful life so you can relax.

I'll create a customized yoga practice for you that meets your unique needs. When you are more grounded and focused you'll feel empowered to achieve your specific goals.

“With Kate, you’ll be in really good hands, and feel comfortable. Her approach is soothing, while still getting right to the work. She’s very knowledgeable, and has a way of teaching acceptance with gentleness, curiosity, and compassion.”
-Emily G.

Learn How Breathing Can Help Your Mood

Breathing exercises can be used as an effective stress reliever. They also improve concentration and focus, and can even reduce anxiety. It’s easy to do these simple breathing exercises at any time, anywhere. I'll show you how. Breathing patterns are an efficient and effective way to regain emotional balance and have also been studied by scientific researchers for their stress relief benefits.

Release Tension Through Stretching

Stretching helps release tension in your muscles and joints, and improves flexibility. We will target your yoga coaching to the areas you want to stretch and release.

Relax With Guided Meditation

Meditation is a practice to train your mind in awareness. It has been used for thousands of years to help people relax, focus, and more. There are countless techniques, from many traditions worldwide. You don't need to learn them all to benefit from meditation practice!

I lead my students in guided meditation and relaxation. I've noticed that as my students learn to relax at the end of their private yoga lesson, that training in relaxation can lead to better sleep at night.

I Value Inclusion, Empathy and Respect in Everything I Do

The customized private yoga lessons, and in fact all classes I teach, are inclusive of people regardless of ability level, injury, size, age, gender, sexual orientation or race. Modifications are inclusive and nonjudgmental to help you feel ease and joy in your body.  We start where you are at. Yoga is a lifetime practice, and progress is not expected to be linear.

Specialized Populations Need Customized Instruction

Injuries can be accommodated under the supervision of your medical providers. If you have injuries, I'll help you find variations where you can experience ease. We will work together patiently towards gradual healing.

I teach gentle yoga and meditation to people who want to feel calmer no matter how intense their life is. Mental health has been shown to improve during and after yoga and meditation. I'll support you with calming techniques and I'm not afraid of your big feelings. If you have specific goals, I'll incorporate those into your yoga private session

Pregnant parents can receive (or give themselves) a nurturing gift of private prenatal yoga.

"Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to hire Kate to teach a private class at a small event at our house, which made for a very special event I will remember for a long time. Kate is attentive, patient, and provides helpful guidance while making sure that every participant is comfortable and doing what is right for their body."
-Joanna D.

Why Should You Hire Kate Lynch of Healthy Happy Yoga to Teach You Private Yoga and Meditation?

I began teaching yoga and cultivating community in 2002, hoping to relieve some of the suffering in the world after 9/11. Since then, I've been sharing the tools that help me find joy, healing and calm in the face of self-doubt, pain and anxiety as a full-time yoga and meditation teacher.

“I have been working with Kate for years. She is versed in her craft and has a way of making participants feel comfortable... I was so resistant to virtual yoga, and I'm so glad I was able to get over that because it's just so enjoyable."
-Donna H.
