Healthy Happy Yoga
Waiver & Policies

Effective date: 12/02/2021

Waiver

I, the undersigned attendee, understand that these activities  may involve physical, emotional, and psychological activity. In these cases there’s always some risk involved. I understand that I am responsible for assessing the risk that any activity poses to me, and then making safe and empowered choices for myself.

I agree to assume the risk and responsibility for any injuries or damages arising out of my participation. I also agree to immediately communicate any concerns to Kate.

Equity Policies

I hold myself to these core values: empathy, integrity, equity and respect. I will endeavor to model confidentiality, inclusive language, awareness of privilege, self-care and scope of practice. If you feel that I’m out of alignment, I invite you to call me in. We are all learning, we are all healing.

Mindful movement can contribute to healing racialized stress and trauma, which we all carry in our bodies to some degree. Injustice remains until we uproot inequity systemically.

I have a role to play in dismantling racial oppression. One way that I can support equity is through what I ask you to pay for yoga class.

No one will be turned away for inability to pay. I will never assume you cannot compensate me for my work.

Injustice remains until we uproot inequity and oppression systemically. I want to share what I can, so I’m offering you class for free if you're a Black community member. If you want to attend any of my group offerings, please let me know.

Refund & Attendance Policies

INDIVIDUAL & SMALL GROUP COACHING:
24 hour cancellation policy. Most sessions will be on Zoom, but I will travel within Brooklyn to your home. NYC travel and space rental is additional.

WORKSHOPS:
24 hour cancellation policy.

RETREATS:
Please double check your availability before booking your retreat. I keep my retreats intimate, so every spot really counts. I understand that emergencies happen. Of course in an emergency I’ll refund you, up to 2 weeks before the retreat, minus the $50 in fees that I am being charged. Please be patient with your refund, as I am just one person.

I require attendance for the whole event. From both a student and teacher perspective, continuity of the group is an important aspect for the retreat. Drop-in or partial attendees can be disruptive to the community that forms during a retreat. In many cases attendees become vulnerable as they go through a transformative process together. Respect is one of my core values and this is how I show respect to each attendee.
